Buy Local Produce - Natural Fields Farm

Natural Fields Farm in Springfield offers natural, chemical free farm products that are grown just down the street from our homes. Here's a copy of their email letter, which explains more about their vision and product purchasing:

When you buy from Natural Fields Farm, you are buying directly from the farmer that grew your food. There is no middleman or hidden costs. We never use chemical pesticides or fertilizers. Your food is fresher, healthier, and better tasting than anything you can get in a store, and you are supporting local, sustainable agriculture, which contributes to the soil, improves the environment, and produce healthy and nutritious food.

We will have a wide variety of crops which change throughout the season. Since everything we sell is locally grown, our offerings vary with the heat, the rain, the insects, and other unforeseeable circumstances. Here is a list of some of the vegetables that we plan to have available: Tomatoes (Beefsteak, Roma, Cherry, Paragon, and Heirloom Varieties), Cucumbers, Lettuce, Endive, Arugala, Swiss Chard, Zucchini, Summer squash, Winter squash, Watermelon, Pumpkins, Green Beans, Beets, Spinach, Green Peppers, JalapeƱo Peppers, Okra, Corn, Potatoes, and Eggplant.

We are going to continue with the same method of payment and delivery as last year. Here is how it will work. .If you are interested in receiving fresh produce, reply to this email and let us know to put you on the customer list. Then, send us a deposit of $50 (Make checks payable to Stuart Say). This deposit acts as credit to your account. Your available credit is shown on your invoice when you receive your order. When your credit is gone, you will need to make another deposit before you order again. At the end of the season we will refund any money that is left in your account. If you will be ordering every week, feel free to make a larger deposit!

Once you have signed up and made your deposit, you will then start receiving regular Saturday emails from us which list our produce and pricing. Your order is due to us by Monday night. All orders are filled first come, first serve. You will receive an email confirmation from us after we receive your order. If you do not receive a confirmation, we did not receive your order and please try again!

You only order what you like, in the amounts that suit your needs, and you are not obligated to order every week. Your order is then delivered to you within 48 hours after being harvested. We deliver to Coopertown Elementary in Springfield from 5pm to 6pm-you can stop by anytime during those hours to pick up your order.

When you think that the average meal in the U.S. travels 1,500 miles before reaching your plate, it will make you feel good that the food from Natural Fields Farm travels less that 40 miles to get to you! We hope you enjoy this season and thanks again for supporting local grown food!

You are welcome to forward this email to any friends who might be interested.

Thank you,
Stuart Mary Beth Say
