Wild Game Tasting and Auction

Saturday, April 12 at 5:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center

Bring the entire family and join us for an evening of good food and Christian fellowship. Try a variety of wild game entrees -- or if you're not that adventurous, traditional domestic foods will be served as well. If you have a favorite wild game dish, vegetable or dessert, please bring it for everyone to taste. The sportmen's auction will follow the meal. Admission is free. All proceeds will be used to further the work of the Christian Sportsmen as they spread the message of Jesus Christ and support the ministries of First Baptist Church Joelton.

The Christian Sportsmen's Ministry consists of sportsmen who are united in their passion for the great outdoors and their love of Jesus. Through this common interest, they hope to lead others to the salvation that only Christ can provide. This ministry provides men with practical tools for building lasting relationships based on common interests, lifestyles enhanced by character building discipleship, and a creative forum for introducing others to the Christian lifestyle.

The Wild Game Tasting and Auction is the primary annual fundraiser for this group. The money raised is used in a variety of ways to reach out to the local community in an effort to further God's Kingdom. This past year, the Christian Sportsmen of FBCJ sponsored youth hunts; purchased camouflage Bibles for distribution to those seeking the Lord; purchased other witnessing tracts directed towards outdoorsmen; provided hunter safety courses; and set up informational booths at local and national outdoor shows in order to witness and support the national Chistian Sportsmen's Ministry.

For more information about this event or the Christian Sportsmen's Ministry, please call Kelly Gupton at 604-5637 or John Savary at 429-7189.
